Know History, Know Self. No History, No Self.

Our Teaching Philosophy
REALSOUL’s teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in the revolutionary spirit of the Third World Liberation Front which birthed the Ethnic Studies movement. For decades, this movement has been taught solely in homes and higher education. We strongly believe that to create change, we must make this information accessible and relevant to all.
Our Educational Framework
Our A.R.T teaching framework was gifted by advisor and Ethnic Studies leader, Dr. Allyson Tintiago-Cubales and is included in all lessons, regardless of subject and grade level.
A for Analyze
Through multimedia sources and activities, students are introduced to stories of marginalized communities.
R for Reflect
When students step into the classroom, they bring their own lived experiences. By honoring the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students, we create a learning environment where every voice is valued, ensuring that all students see themselves represented in the curriculum.
T for Transform & Act
Our work is action-oriented. While certainly not the end of the journey, students will use these historical moments to go and create change within their own communities, locally and nationally. This demonstrates the commitment to not only learning, but applying knowledge to affect real change.
REALSOUL’s curriculum is unique as we work with artists, activists, community leaders, and educators to ensure all our lessons are rooted in community. We believe that it is through the understanding of ourselves and our communities that we can strive for collective liberation for all.
