Curriculum for Today, Change for Tomorrow

Meet REALSOUL

At the Crossroads of Social Justice, Art, and Community

REALSOUL is a curriculum-based arts organization that develops K–8 Ethnic Studies curriculum, arts education programs, and culturally responsive teaching resources. We partner with educators, families, and youth to design interdisciplinary learning experiences rooted in social justice, creativity, and community-based education, centering the intersectional stories of marginalized communities.

Our Services

  • A display of children's books on a table, with a jar of sunflower and orange flowers, and a bottle of hand sanitizer in front of the books, in a classroom or library setting.

    Educator Guides

Our K–8 curriculum and lesson plans bring intersectional histories of marginalized communities into elementary and middle school classrooms. Through arts integration and culturally responsive teaching practices, students connect history to their own lived experiences, build critical thinking skills, and imagine more just and equitable futures.

  • A classroom or training room with multiple people seated at tables, a woman standing at the front giving a presentation, a large screen displaying a slide, and various items on the tables.

The Artisan's Table: Food, Fiber & Freedom

The Artisan’s Table is a hands-on arts education and community learning program that brings creative practice into the classroom. Through food, fiber, and storytelling, educators engage in collaborative, project-based learning experiences that support arts integration, cultural connection, and interdisciplinary curriculum design.

  • People gather in a room for a presentation about the Waverly Zine Project with a large pink display screen showing the project logo and participants speaking at the front.

    Youth & Community

We collaborate with schools, community organizations, and cultural festivals to expand learning beyond the classroom. Our youth and community programs connect Ethnic Studies education with real-world action, encouraging students and families to engage in social justice, cultural preservation, and community-based learning.

Our Teaching Philosophy

REALSOUL’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the legacy of the Third World Liberation Front and the Ethnic Studies movement. We believe K–8 curriculum should be accessible, interdisciplinary, and grounded in the lived experiences of marginalized communities. Through storytelling, arts-based learning, and culturally sustaining pedagogy, we support reflection, critical consciousness, and collective action.
